Carrageenan Is An Added Ingredient On Many Food Labels Including Organic! 

Carrageenan Side Effects:

Carrageenan is widely used in the food industry in the united states. Should be banned! Corporations like to use Carrageenans for it’s thickening, gelling, and stabilizing properties. Yet the evidence is clear. This toxic seaweed is a dangerous ingredient to look out for when you go shopping at the grocery store. Carrageenansometimes called carrageenins has little if any nutritional value. Carrageenan is from the Irish dialect “carraigín”. 

You can even find Carrageenan in your favorite ice cream or chocolate, infant formula like pediasure, insure shakes for seniors, yogurt, deserts. Many frozen foods! Even your protein work out powder could have Carrageenan! 

A family of sulphate polysaccharides that are extracted from edible red seaweeds. Carrageenan’s main uses are in the dairy and meat industry. Carrageenans added to many beverages to keep drinks mixed and not separating and creates bonds to food proteins.  

Carrageenans would also absorb random isotopes like radioactive particles in the ocean. Do to labels that lack origin! It would be a good idea to avoid eating Carrageenan completely.  Pacific Carrageenan is expected to show more contamination. The Fukushima melted reactors, continue to spew 1000′s of tons of contaminated water every day into the pacific ocean.

Also through the “Wic program” mothers can get free pediasure for infants or failure to thrive babies. The government sponsored food stamp program recommends this pediasure that contains GMO corn, carrageenans and tuna oil a triple whammy! Likely Pacific sourced. This pediasure is sure to do more harm than good. We will never know the origin of production because they will not label the source of the Carrgeenans. 

Uptake In Carrageenan During The Dark Ages. 

The Gelatinous extract of the crispus Chondrus seaweed . An “Irish Moss” been used in food preparation dating back to the 1400s.  Carrageenan often is chosen by vegetarians and is a vegan alternate to beef, pig or horse gelatin.  Added to many nut, dairy, soy, milk mixtures to keep the beverage or mix in equal suspension.  

Carrageenan has went through several long-term studies when used in dietary setting.   Some studies indicate that carrageenan can safely passes through a rats GI tract without adverse side effects. Yet other animal studies have indicated colitis-like diseases and increased tumor production.  Recently, several scientists have raised concerns in the dose of “degraded carrageenan called poligeenan  could lead to increased health issues.  This has caused a debate in the medical community concerning the research literature. 

The European union has banned carrageenan in baby formulas, organic or other foodstuff applications, as a precautionary measure,  However in the USA, Carrageenan is allowed in organic  and not organic foods, including juice, chocolate milks, and organic infant formulas, yogurt, ice creams, protein shakes, pediasure, deli meats including cold cuts and hot dogs. Silk, pure coconut” milk and almond milk contain “carrageenan”.
