Nutritious shake recipe to Lose weight. Smoothie tastes great

Losing weight has been on the top of my to do list since making “New Year” resolutions! I am happy to report back to you that after 2 months of making healthy shakes at home and walking, I have lost 12 pounds and went from a 40 inch waist to a 36.  The real key to lose weight is some of the slight tweaks i did to my daily diet.  The homemade weight loss shakes have been the catalyst to staying on track.  I will be happy to share with you exactly how i make smoothies  at home using a blender.  I change-up the shake each time slightly to keep it interesting.

Ingredients – handful of strawberries, half banana, 1 apple, handful of blueberries or raspberries, 10 filtered water ice cubes, half a cup of vanilla or plain yogurt, cup of almond milk, 1 tablespoon of almond butter, 1 small piece of dark chocolate, 2 scoops of your favorite protein powder. Just blend all together and freeze the rest! Makes a delicious frozen treat. You may need to add more almond milk or juice so it blends well.

I also think it is very important to soak your produce in a “filtered water vinegar solution” to remove pesticides and fungicides. Most produce will still have trace amounts even after cleaning your fruit.  You can read how to remove all those toxins. Even organic produce may contain trace amounts and carry pathogens from the manure so this is for peace of mind.

I never get bored with this shake and find the smoothie to be very satisfying.  I also have more energy and less pain and this makes great fuel for your muscles to recover.  It is funny because this has replaced ice cream that i would usually eat and frankly the homemade shakes tastes better than any ice-cream i have tried.

Almonds are a good protein source with lots of vitamin E. Studies have also shown that almonds can help reduce pain and inflammation. I also have noticed less pain in my back and legs.  Apples are good for the fiber and the other fruits give my body lots of vitamin C. The berries are great for flavor and i really like berries with the little seeds that are compact sources of vitamin and minerals as some seeds have shown to be cancer fighters.  The blueberries are great for the brain and keep me thinking sharp.

The shakes give me lots of energy and i go for daily walks. I mix in a little jogging though mostly i am walking.  On rainy days i also may jump on a mini trampoline for 30 minutes and turn up the music and have found this a great way to get the body moving. The trampoline is great though i really enjoy walking outside breathing in the fresh air.  Here in Miami it is great to go to the beach and breath in the salt water air.  Also the visual stimulation you receive from the ocean water.  This is very powerful and calming to the mind.
